Nestled along the lively stretch of West Sunset Highway in Airway Heights, The Village Tavern offers more than just your average night out—it’s a welcoming haven where the charm of a classic bar meets the vibrant energy of a full-fledged beer garden. This local favorite is a hotspot for those seeking great drinks, hearty bites, and a sense of community wrapped into one casual, friendly environment.
Step inside, and you’ll immediately notice the warm, laid-back vibe that draws regulars and newcomers alike. The Village Tavern is known for its ice-cold beer selection—featuring gems like Killian’s Irish Red—and a welcoming staff that exudes genuine friendliness, particularly bartender Mary who has garnered loyal fans. Whether you come for a chill evening or to join lively pool games and karaoke sessions, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between lively entertainment and comfortable hangout spot.
The menu, though intentionally compact, packs a flavorful punch. Start your visit with irresistible starters like the baked crab dip, rich with gruyere and herb-infused cheese paired with seasoned potato chips, or the creamy spinach artichoke dip served alongside fresh vegetables and crispy chips. For a casual sandwich fix, the grilled chicken sandwich hits just the right note—simple yet satisfying.
If you’re looking for something more substantial, the entrees do not disappoint. The house smoked brisket is a showstopper, boasting tender, smoky flavors nestled atop Yukon mashed potatoes, complemented by tangy apple slaw and a unique warm corn bread waffle. For seafood lovers, the seared citrus salmon is an elevated choice, delicately finished with herb jasmine rice, baby spinach, and a zesty lemon white wine sauce that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
Customers consistently praise The Village Tavern not just for its food and drinks but for the authentic community feel. Sharie Hunter mentions eagerly inviting friends back, enchanted by the outstanding bartenders and cozy ambiance. Heidi Webb highlights the winning combo of hot, flavorful wings paired with ice-cold beer—a classic that never fails. Others attest to the engaging vibe with games, music, and staff who are both patient and personable, making each visit feel like gathering with friends you haven’t met yet.
Though it offers fewer tables and a compact menu compared to full-scale restaurants, The Village Tavern’s spirited atmosphere and carefully curated offerings create a distinct experience. It’s a refreshing spot where you can indulge in comforting flavors, discover new local faces, and enjoy a night filled with laughter, music, and great beer.

We will always return to the village tavern inviting friends, next time, I'll see if we can invite alot more, our bartender was awesome
Mary's cool. Just don't know the other bartenders. And they have Killian's Irish red. Finally some good beer but only 8 ft tables.
The beer is always ice cold and the wings are always hot! Great people place too! What more could you want?!
Had a great time playing pool and meeting some of the locals. Karaoke was fun too. The staff was friendly and patient.
I thought this was going to be a restaraunt with a small bar attached, ended up being a bar with a small menu and a few tables. I dont drink and never go to bars, but this little place had a friendly feel to it and the burger I ordered was delicious. They have a few pool tables and darts along with a good sound system playing from a digital jukebox. I would go back if I am ever in the Spokane area again. There is also an ATM in there as well if needed.
